Endesa Pavilion

Thursday, September 6th, 2012

I am planning a trip to Spain and I will try to pay a visit to the Endesa Pavilion.

The Endesa Pavillion,  is a testbed for informational grid technologies, driven and designed by the Institute for Advance Architecture of Catalonia and supported by ENDESA (Electricity company in Spain)

The pavillion is settled at the Olimpic Port of Barcelona on the score of the Smart City BCN Congress and will be there until the end of this year.

The structure is highly unusual because is designed to protect from the sun in summer and to have maximum solar gain in winter. This house is not only designed to consume less energy but to produce it is well. It has solar panels strategically placed to produce as much energy as possible. During this year it will perform as a meeting point for knowledge interchange as well as benchmark for smart grid technologies.
