Motion Power

Motion Power! How cool is this? a Company called New Energy technologies has developed a road-based energy harvesting system to capture kinetic energy of decelerating cars and trucks and convert it into usable energy.

The way it works is that passing vehicles drive along a contiguous deformable roadway surface. This surface compresses a fluidizing system that interacts with mechanical fixtures to produce electrical energy.

The company says the power from the 600-vehicle,  could be used in commercial applications, to light up electronic billboards or marquee for an entire day!

It sounds really cool to me!
