Ann and Barry

Wednesday, November 21st, 2012

Every time I talk with my sister about her house she tells me the same thing, that she needs a bigger home!

My sister, her husband and their two daughters live in a small apartment in Barcelona. She lives quite close to city centre and being such a big city the space is precious. So the apartments are small.

Most of the interior magazines feature big homes that the normal people will never be able to live in. This is why I like this company Ann and Barry. They have fun, practical and space saving furniture for children.

If my sister would be able to buy from them I can assure you that she would buy a couple of things for her girls 😉

Take a look at their web site and why not visiting them? they have a showroom in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath

Buy Green Furniture

Monday, April 2nd, 2012

I could spend hours and hours going through furniture catalogues I have to confess that I love furniture. Not that I have to buy anything at the moment but I like to keep up with the trends.

Sometimes it is difficult to make environmental choices in furnishing your home. How should you choose your furniture trying to be respectful to the environment? remember that sometimes your decisions can make a big difference in your impact on the planet!

However, here you have some basic concepts that you can follow in order to help to choose environmental friendly furniture. Perhaps not all the points are budget-friendly but in general is always more cost effective to go green!

  1. Certified sustainable wood
  2. Furniture made with reclaimed materials
  3. Recycled/recyclable metal and plastic
  4. Look for furniture that’s durable and fixable
  5. Buy vintage
  6. Buy local
  7. Buy second hand

I must say that I am a big fan of Cattelan Italia furniture. Cattelan Italia is a very prestigious brand that offers the best of Italian design since 1979. Possibly one of my favourite products is their DNA bookcase designed by Reverso. The Bookcase comes with 13 shelves in white or black painted steel
